AIDSWalk 2008 - Where the Money Goes

All of the money raised through AIDSWalk 2008 stays right here in the Capital Region. Because of the generosity of corporate underwriters, all funds will be used for HIV/AIDS services.

Albany Damien Center -- Social and recreational programming at the drop-in center

Albany Damien Center-PAWS – Provide PLWAs with the psychological and health benefits of sustained pet ownership

Albany Medical Center Massage therapy services for people living with HIV/AIDS

Albany Law School Clinical Legal Studies – Funding for HIV/AIDS Law Conference planned for 2007.

The Bridge (LBGTCC) Community Center of Upstate NY – HIV prevention  programming and rural outreach in the Greater Glens Fall, Saratoga and surrounding rural Adirondack regions.

Capital District African American Coalition on AIDS Purchase of a van for PLWA non-medical appointments and community outreach/education

Council of Community Services of New York State, Inc. – Teleconferencing Support to Help PLWAs Participate in Meetings

Catholic Charities AIDS Services/Farano Program for Families Emergency financial assistance crisis intervention fund for HIV-infected individuals.

Domestic Violence Services HIV prevention and educational activities for youth, incarcerated females and mature women.

Eddy Visiting Nurse Association Continuation and expansion of the Eddy VNA AIDS Care Team program especially in the African-American churches

Equinox, Inc. HIV prevention services for high-risk youth in the Street-Outreach program

HIV/AIDS Coalition of the Saratoga Region, Inc. The Mitchell-Burton Fund which provides financial assistance to persons infected with or affected by HIV

Mohawk Opportunities Nutritional/Educational Support Group for HIV+ clients

New York Capital Region NAMES Project General operating support to continue AIDS education and outreach utilizing the NAMES quilt

Northeren Lights Alternative funding for workshops that assist persons living with HIV/AIDS in looking at how the virus affects their lives and making positive changes.

Our Brothers' Keepers Foundation Financial assistance to support programs that provide a wide-range of direct services which enhance quality of life to persons with AIDS, their families and loved ones.

Red Ribbon Partnership of Fulton and Montgomery Counties – Emergency financial assistance for persons infected with of affected by HIV.
